Step up to the EcoDiesel and you'll get 260 horsepower, but an unbelievable 480 lb-ft of torque. Due to the fuel efficiency of diesel engines, this incredible engine gets up to 29 MPG on the highway*, which is stunning considering the performance on board. Additional engine options include a 395-horsepower HEMI® V8 engine with a towing capacity of up to 12,750 pounds** when properly equipped. Off-road-focused TRX models terrorize the trails with a 707-horsepower HEMI® V8. 4x2 is standard on most Ram models, but 4x4 is optional across the board, along with an eight-speed automatic transmission.

The Tundra takes a much different approach to power by offering only two different powertrain options, one with a hybrid boost and one without. Cranked up with battery power, the twin-turbo V6 i-FORCE MAX hybrid engine boasts 437 horsepower and 583 lb-ft of torque, giving it a towing rating of 12,000 pounds**. Two Tow/Haul modes manage overall towing performance, and several TRD off-roading packages are available to enhance the optional 4x4 system. Tundra models also have a Load-Leveling Rear Height Control Air Suspension

Safety and Driving Assistance

One of the highlights of the Ram 1500 is the wide availability of safety and driving assistance technology. Highlights include an optional 360° Surround View Camera and 360° Surround View Trailer Camera that helps you place the large and in-charge Ram exactly where it needs to be for proper towing hookups. Speaking of towing, there's also Trailer Reverse Steering Control on board to help prevent jack-knifing a large trailer when going in reverse. A huge 12-inch touchscreen infotainment system running the latest version of Uconnect® 5C is available on several Ram 1500 models.
